Kath and her boyfriend move to a remote log cabin they've rented, only to discover that a young couple is already staying there. With nowhere else to go that day, they decide to share the house. When her love with the young, mysterious woman appears to have disappeared without a trace, Kath obsessively searches for an explanation.

Kath [Winona Ryder] and Max [John Gallagher Jr.] get a nasty surprise when it turns out that the vacation home they rented has already been taken by Greta [Brianne Tju] and Al [Owen Teague]. The two couples try to make the best of the situation. So it makes sense that they start with an intimate board game in which they test their relationships?! The next day, Max and Greta appear to have disappeared without a trace. With help from homeowner Barlow [Dermot Mulroney], Kath tries to find out what happened. Is still quite intriguing at first and Mulroney is good, but it makes no sense.

Nice film in which a couple rents a house in the woods, which turns out to be double booked. The plot leans quite a bit on some coincidences, but partly because of the structure and the somewhat different tone, you are curious where it all goes. A fine role by Winona Ryder.
