The Covid pandemic has gripped the US for 40 years and Stan [Trey Parker] has turned his back on his hometown since his fight with Kyle [Matt Stone] over Covid. News of scientist Kenny McCormick's death brings Kenny's old friends together for the first time in a long time. Because McCormick has secret information that only his friends can find out that could hold the key to solving the Covid crisis. Kyle's reunion with Cartman is memorable, but this entire TV special is full of inventive gags including the singing doorbell, Jimmy's standup comedy, and most importantly, Kyle's female companion Alexa [Deiliah Kujala]. Got a disappointing sequel.

I watched South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut in the cinema as a little snot of 9 years old. I still don't understand how I got into the room at the time. But I've been a big South Park fan ever since. The enthusiasm grew even more as I got older and actually started to understand the jokes. But in the last 6 years I have hardly put on an episode. Maybe I grew out of it or did the genius makers run out of inspiration? Probably some of both. I watched this special episode with a bit of nostalgia, but little taste. Not much to laugh about at all. A bit dreary, sad stuff. Nice references to Blade Runner.

Nice. A movie that came out at just the right time. I have been following the series for some time and always watch the latest episodes. I like this kind of vulgar, sharp stuff, even though a lot of the humor is pretty easy. Now Parker and Stone really come up with a really interesting concept, not something that exclusively picks up on relevant themes. That makes for a pretty entertaining whole. There is a lot to say about the animation, but if you have grown old with these figures, you will soon be forgiven. Furthermore, remarkably profound and dramatic, although Parker and Stone never think about it too long. All the constant discoveries and outcomes of all adult characters always manage to entertain, it's great that Parker and Stone have dared to do this. I just have to say that I've never really liked characters like Randy Marsh. The fact that Stan and Kyle's childish side is also gone sometimes makes it a bit tougher, but those are small things. I more than enjoyed myself.
