To conclude Thursday evening after Blind Horizon and Unstoppable a Jesse Stone episode and known that I am with Jessie Stone I knew immediately that this was going to be the best of the evening. Because in the past I already saw several of these TV movies and possibly I saw Death in Paradise earlier but that is probably also something 13 or 14 years ago, maybe even longer.

Anyway, let's roll with the always sympathetic performance by Tom Selleck, and as often Stone does not have it easy with a difficult case, the desire for drink and his own troubles or past that hangs around his neck like a millstone. Stone is in that sense amiable but also a bit tragic and that gives just that extra edge that makes the character interesting. Central is the found body of a young lady where the puzzle is about her identity, whether her death is a crime and of course who did it. Nice about the Jessie Stone stories is certainly the pleasant and calm pace that is completely at home in this environment. The perpetrator and motive can be easily guessed at a certain point with another difficult case that wanders in between which is supplemented by the excellent cast with among others Viola Davis, William Devane and the beautiful Orla Brady and you have a more than sufficient and pleasantly filled evening. This is of course not top notch but more than acceptable.
