The Fight before Christmas plot
For 29-year-old Emma, the world is turned upside down when her father embarks on a new relationship after her mother's death. Not only because it is a new relationship, but also because her father's new girlfriend was a friend of Emma during her high school years. Emma doesn't accept this and starts making plans to break up the couple over the holidays.

In my field they sometimes say "Communication is Key". However, the cast of Christmas is Canceled has no form of communication, which means they are constantly getting themselves into further trouble. This film provides a good picture of how you can make things worse for yourself, making it very difficult from the first minute to feel any kind of sympathy for the characters. Fortunately, the acting is quite nice and Hayley Orrantia stands out in particular. Director Prarthana Mohan comes up with a combination of drama and comedy that go together quite well, but do not excel in terms of content. The compromise in the finale shows a strikingly humane effect, but by then the film has already gone on far too long. It is remarkable that I can't imagine ever being in Orrantia's shoes in this film, so Mohan presents a nice tidbit to chew on. The pity is that it is not the fault of the film, but rather an active set of curious brains.
