Lucy and Jane are lifelong friends and think they know everything about each other. One day Jane announces that she is leaving Los Angeles for London due to work. Lucy reveals a long-kept secret. Their bond is put to the test.

Good film about two good friends, one of whom is moving abroad because of work. Although the main character seems a bit whiny at the beginning, he turns out well. All good scenes, a pleasant pace and certainly a nice, sympathetic cast.

The plot may seem like a reason for an intense coming-out drama, in which especially in the case of Lucy, great obstacles have to be overcome. However, Am I Ok? is not an intense coming-out drama. There are no great obstacles to overcome. The protagonists, who are in their early 30s, are already too old for that. Moreover, everyone around them reacts very understandingly. It is mainly Jane and Lucy themselves who are having a hard time and who still have some issues that they have to sort out. In sorting these out, the film does not use a gloomy or very serious tone. It is more light-hearted feel-good than intense tragedy.
Lucy and Jane are not portrayed as the exceptions. In the film, other adult characters also appear to have their lives not completely in balance. As is the case in real life outside the film. It is very recognizable. Not everything runs smoothly for any character. At the end, Lucy and Jane have a somewhat forced happy ending that is not a definitive happy ending but a pleasant stopover on the road to their further lives.
