Frank & Zed plot
Centuries ago, a desperate battle ravaged a village, left a new bride dead and two arch-enemies dependent on each other for survival. Forgotten among the crumbling ruins, the living corpses Frank and Zed have led a meager existence, each responsible for feeding the other. One fateful day, a villager invades Frank's hunting grounds. The harvest fills Zed's stomach and sets the entire city on the trail of bloody retaliation.

A very cute elaboration of a bunch of puppets that are ultimately torn apart in a bloody mess. Director Jesse Blanchard convincingly conveys his passion for the craft and utilizes the creativity that comes with it effectively. Of course, opportunities are seized to create some grander scenes with this approach, but it's primarily the smaller elements like the practical effects and the visually appealing design that truly complete Frank & Zed. The beginning is a bit slow, but it's nevertheless surprising that this film has so little attention from genre enthusiasts.
