The Path plot
In 1940, journalist Ludwig tries to flee occupied Germany with his twelve-year-old son Rolf. They move to New York, where Rolf's mother is staying, but are stranded in Marseille. The only road they can take is to Spain, across the Pyrenees. Together with their dog and the girl Núria, who accompanies them, they take the dangerous path. When Ludwig is arrested, the children are dependent on each other.

I sometimes read strange things here on MovieMeter (usually not too bad), but I have not read anything stranger than the comment from Rotterdam@1. He thinks it is a film with nasty things and not suitable for the target group. What is that, a target group? In fact, it is a very sympathetic and optimistic film with little trouble, some humor and a relatively happy ending. Yes, it is set in the Second World War and it is about people who are on the run. Just as there are currently more than 80 million people on the run, of which 34 million are children, as the film tells us at the end. So this film is certainly topical and children should know that, even if they are eating ice cream...
