Bad.
An ambitious title for a film that is not at all. The Exorcism of God seems to have very little to do with God. Apart from the fact that it may occasionally approach a somewhat different path towards the finale, we mainly get to see the standard recipe of a priest who sends some demons back into the abyss on his own.
The opening is immediately wild. Hidalgo wastes no time in getting to the core of the film. In no time there are already exorcisms, sexual references and a lot of screaming. The sad thing is that it never really catches on. In fact, it all seems rather ridiculous. A film that wants to travel a little too laboriously with the great classics, and does not make it a secret.
What else can be seen, that is a film that, despite all the fanfare and drumroll, never wants to become even a little fascinating. Apart from some short tension curves, the film mainly consists of the same hassle that is recycled over and over again. Towards the end, the film may take an even more explosive path, but instead of something new, it is just adding the same elements, only in plural.
I found it rather difficult to finish this film with a serious eye. For a title like this, the film is simply too small. Far too few sequences catch on. It's especially hard to see how they handled it all so safely. If there is then little to see on the visual level, the fun quickly ends. Movie that you have most likely forgotten.
