"Deception. The greatest weapon in war."
In 1943, the Allies are determined to liberate occupied Europe from Hitler's stranglehold. Intelligence officers Ewen Montagu and Charles Cholmondeley devise a separate strategy. They use the corpse of a secret agent and forged documents to mislead the Germans. Their plan could determine the entire outcome of World War II.

The daring plan to deceive the Nazis prior to the landing of the Allies in Sicily is cleverly put together. This movie is much less about that. A spy movie is supposed to pull you to the edge of your seat. That is not the case here, because in terms of tension it is rather disappointing. It doesn't help that Colin Firth walks around with the same expression on his face for two hours.

Good film in which a plan is devised to fool Hitler with misinformation. A fascinating true story set during World War II. This delivers a solid spy thriller here that is easy to look away from. Although the romantic subplot isn't really bad, it doesn't add much.

Nice document, unfortunately a little less successful as a film as too much time was spent on the relationship between Ewen, Charles and Jean and therefore too little time on the operation itself. It was nice that Ian Fleming, personal assistant to the director of Naval Intelligence and the author of James Bond, was one of the roles in this film. My rating is mainly based on the historical value of this movie; I had never heard of Operation Mincemeat.
