Waitress Caroline has no luck in love. When she is nearly raped by two men one evening, she is rescued by the strange and quiet Adam who also works in her restaurant. Adam has a heart condition, and the nuns used to tell him in the orphanage that he has a baboon heart. Caroline is of course very grateful to Adam and gradually a close bond develops between the two.

A wonderful film, with a wonderful Marissa Tomei and a good Slater as the dreamy dishwasher/Christmas tree salesman. Maybe too recognizable at times, but probably that's why it's so good. The dvd has been ordered. Can't wait to watch it again...

Emotional story with a little too little depth.
Christian Slater proves once again that he is an excellent actor. Marisa Tomei has to rely too much on her now familiar mannerisms.

Good movie about a waitress who is saved from being assaulted by a colleague. A beautiful love story with beautiful characters. Marisa Tomei, Christian Slater and Rosie Perez are excellently cast and there is a nice chemistry between the first two. The movie has a pleasant, calm pace and although the ending is touching, it is also a bit predictable. Easily 3.5 stars.
