Despite their social differences, poor David and rich Olivier are best friends. David has placed young Eleonore in Olivier's Paris flat. When Olivier meets her there, he takes her to the countryside, where the three of them build a boat. Their project and friendship is scuttled when both David and Olivier develop a crush on Eleonore.
