Pretty good actually. Probably even better than Deepwater Horizon. I thought you were close to the characters. Whoever does what in terms of work and such a number of actions on the oil rig. The difficult decisions and that money always plays a big role, sometimes bigger than human lives. I also didn't find it woke anywhere about the climate for example. The drama hit where it had to hit. Better film than I expected.

Fairly strong disaster film of almost Emmerichional proportions. The story is not always very logical but is very amusing and nicely thought out. From the beginning the film grabs you right away and does not let go. The drama is well built up with very exciting moments and the necessary spectacle. As mentioned, Emmerich has been looked at well, because all the ingredients for a disaster film are present. The acting is fine. Visually the film looks good with beautiful camera images. The special effects are otherwise ok. A pleasant surprise. 4.0

Solid special effects and good acting, but the story is extremely predictable and the drama elements slow things down considerably. It remains a mystery to me as a viewer why directors like John Andreas Andersen have to rely so much on humanity in films that revolve around a disaster, because the marketing only points in the direction of spectacle. The visual design is a bit bare, but the second half is fortunately entertaining enough for some bonus points.
