Al-Sit plot
In a cotton farming village in Sudan, 15-year-old Nafisa is in love with Babiker, but her parents have arranged her marriage to Nadir, a young Sudanese businessman living abroad. Nafisa's grandmother Al-Sit, the powerful village matriarch, has her own plans for Nafisa's future. But can the young girl choose for herself?

Also my second film from Sudan. And it's not surprising to see another film through these cultures that focuses on the position of women, specifically around arranged marriages. Interesting display between traditions and modernity. The motives of the impending groom also gradually surfaced. The fact that his parents were not there and he only talked about his company's business model with the cotton plantations in Sudan gave away a lot. What would such a brushed-down type have to do with a local poor farmer's girl that he wouldn't find in Doha? So it's fascinating to also hear the matriarch of the village speak. Nice to see the Sudanese culture. Watch and experience!
