Escape Room: Tournament of Champions is a fine and smooth sequel to one of the better Escape Room films that came out in the 2017-2019 period. It doesn't have much to do with it. The plot is very simple and the credibility of the plot as a whole is of course also worthless. Especially how everything is set in motion is very meager.

Still, I really enjoy every new Escape Room that the protagonists enter and it is always figuring out how they are going to come out, although it is of course a bit unrealistically fast how they always come behind every way too difficult puzzle. But then of course you don't have a movie left at the end.

The characters themselves are also cardboard and I don't like Taylor Russell in the lead either. I really feel like I'm watching an introverted 14-year-old teenage girl when she opens her mouth. But her looks aren't right either. While she is 27 years old. As an adult, she doesn't bring what she should bring. That's actually the biggest problem for me.

I think this franchise is fine and a third part is of course inevitable given the end, but I think the leading role is way too light to carry these films. Then give me an energetic girl like Jessica Rothe in Happy Death Day (2U). He can easily carry a film. A strong lead role would actually make this franchise so much better.

It's not often that a movie's sequel has a different genre than the original. Where the first Escape Room was a nice horror film, this is more of an adventure film. That inevitably leaves many fans of the original disappointed. The characters are average and it's not that entertaining anymore. Maybe nice to have seen for people who have time to spare, but I wouldn't call this highly recommended.

Inferior sequel, far-fetched and forced. The two protagonists of the first part who return here already don't have much charisma, but they still compare positively with the new characters, who really don't leave any impression. It's also annoying that everyone is constantly yelling around what he/she is doing. In addition, the escape rooms are not interesting this time and the plot goes in a direction that I can't do much with. No, exciting is different.
