The O Canada Project plot

On December 28, 2008, the Spirit of Canada sailboat was washed over by a large wave during the Vendée Globe race. The damage forced sailor Derek Hatfield to abandon the race. The boat, damaged and in dire need of repair, was transported to Auckland to be rebuilt and modernized. She was renamed O Canada and a new skipper was to take the helm. Reconstructed and supervised by seasoned New Zealand sailor Dan Slater, a group of five elite Canadian sailors head to New Zealand to learn how to sail in O Canada.
