Resilience plot

Jimmy Remely begins a series of unusual encounters with a prostitute in a motel room. On the other side of town, his Uncle Hodge struggles with life in a stuffy, run-down apartment. When Jimmy does his uncle a seemingly insignificant favor, he stirs up a feud between Hodge and his estranged son Andrew. Jimmy tries to assuage the animosity between them, but suddenly finds himself in the situation to prevent a murder.
