Bad Girls plot
"It was a dangerous time to be a woman. And a good time to have friends."
Four former prostitutes are on the run when one of them, Cody, escapes the death penalty. With the money saved from Cody, the four want to build a new life in Oregon. But then Cody's ex-partner Kid Jarrett robs the bank and makes off with all the money. The four try to get their money back, with two detectives on their tail.

I expected a kind of Bandidas, but Bad Girls turns out to be much more serious. Sure, one Andie McDowell slut falling off her horse during take-off features the few attempts at humor, but scenes like raping (though not pictured) and shooting heroes in the back I didn't expect right away. However, it provides a tone that I can taste.
Most of the cast is also to taste. Drew Barrymore is heartwarming, but Madeleine Stowe draws attention to her. It's just a bit of a shame about her low Jodie Foster voice, but one can't have everything, of course.
The other cast members aren't as engaging. Andie McDowell and Mary Stuart Masterson should have been dropped. James Russo as villain is okay, Dermont Mulroney is too slick.
Bad Girls doesn't have a real western atmosphere. The tempo is too high for that and the atmospheric shots are missing, in which image, music and, to a lesser extent, character heads do all the work. The director has only done half the job in that respect. But that shouldn't come as a surprise. He also shows little western talent during the shoot-out.
Not that I expected that...

Reasonable film about four prostitutes who want to build a new life with their money. A poor story, but the film is entertaining enough. This is mainly due to the excellent pace, quite a bit of action and certainly to the fine casting of the four women in the lead role. Nice to see once, but nothing more.

A film that always continued to attract and seemed to appeal to the imagination, especially because of the female beauty, shall we say, afterwards I came to the conclusion that I had seen the film.
The ladies don't get much introduction, nor is the reason for the team up and running, very predictable in that regard. The subsequent events are all no less predictable with all the developments and the final denouement. And actually that shouldn't be looked at in this film with a group of women who tend to the composition of the average 90s girl band with Bossy Spice, Posh Spice, Serious Spice and Baby/Hot Spice.
It is therefore this excellent group of women that makes the film worth watching with four beautiful ladies. Stowe as the bully, Masterson as the serious lady, McDowell as the tuthola and Barrymore as the ultimate eye candy. Another user already spoke positively about Barrymore and I thought that this user seriously needed to see an optician. Barrymore sexy? Exciting ? Sex appeal? In which universe? But damn what an unbelievably pretty lady Barrymore was at 19. It is Loggia who further adds something as the only actor of name, Mulrooney is the cast filling as different and yes... apart from that I can't really think of anything else or worth mentioning.
The casting department of this film probably made the biggest contribution because to be honest it all means very little and Bad Girls is mainly an hour and a half watching hot chicks and nothing more.
