In 1991, Kurdwin Ayub and her family fled Iraq and came to Austria. Nearly twenty-five years later, she accompanies her father on a journey back to his old homeland. While he considers staying there forever, Kurdwin and her cousins feel like strangers. This film is a generational portrait of rootedness and displacement, both as the fate of an individual family and as a universal phenomenon of the 21st century.
