De Kameleon aan de Ketting plot
The twins have a hard time when it is decided that the Chameleon must be chained. The brothers' boat runs on diesel, which is now prohibited. At the same time, a large number of dead animals are found at a care farm near the village of Lenten. Nando, a boy with an intellectual disability, claims he is the culprit. Hielke and Sietse don't believe that at all; together they search for the real criminals.

Went to the cinema to watch this film together with the children and wife.
Because I have read (almost) all of the books, I enjoyed watching this film again!
Nice action, funny story, we enjoyed it!
I think it is a minor point that, for example, Kees (the miller's son) and Louw Vrolijk do not appear in the film.
Gerben's role is also minimal.

After fifteen years, farming twins Hielke [Sens Gerritsen] and Sietse Klinkhamer [Imme Gerritsen] return to the big screen in a modern guise. Minister De Block [Robin van den Heuvel] of Environment and Diesel Affairs is causing unrest in the municipality with a pilot that will impose a fine of 20,000 euros on anyone who uses a diesel vehicle aged 10 years or older. Farmhand Gerben [Cas Jansen] tries to get the mother together to ask Chantal [Annelieke Brouwers] to marry him, but becomes jealous when it turns out that an actor [William Spaaij] is allowed to kiss Chantal at the upcoming performance of Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' . And when 28 goats and sheep are found dead on Hidde's [Syb van der Ploeg] care farm, resident Nando [Nando Liebregts] takes the blame, even though everyone knows he wouldn't hurt a fly. Police officer Zwart [Michiel Kerbosch] has his doubts, Hielke and Sietse, together with Nando's best friend Jossie [Lieke van den Akker], try to discover what really happens. The central mystery is interesting and the enthusiastic cast keeps it entertaining from start to finish, the other storylines slow the pace. But damn it, Kerbosch is the standout together with Margreet Blanken as the headstrong Beppe (grandma) Klinkhamer. But the best one-liner goes to Nando Liebregts.
