In Amsterdam, Joël, an American tourist, meets Anouk, a charming young Dutch woman, on the day before the attacks of September 11, 2001. They fall madly in love and Joël decides to stay in the Netherlands. Exactly ten years later, they want to celebrate their first meeting, but the commemoration of the attacks makes them think about their love for each other.
