A Tale of Two Kitchens plot
Two countries, two restaurants, one vision. At Gabriela Cámara's acclaimed Contramar restaurant in Mexico City, the customer-friendly, uniformed waiters are just as appreciated by customers as the menu of fresh fish, caught locally within the last 24 hours. The whole staff sees themselves as part of one big family. Meanwhile at Cala restaurant in San Francisco, Cámara hires staff from diverse backgrounds and cultures, including ex-cons and ex-addicts. They see the work as an important opportunity to grow as a person. This documentary examines how a restaurant can be a place for dignity and togetherness.
