Beautiful but sad drama about a couple who lose their baby during a home birth.

Excellent acting, atmospheric music and remarkably frivolous camera work for an otherwise fairly sober film. There are some very nice 'one-shot scenes' in it, of which the opening scene in particular made quite an impression. The film no longer manages to match the level of those intense first 20/25 minutes, but despite that it remains an above-average strong drama film for the rest of the running time, to eventually come to a satisfying end. Rounding up I come to 4 stars.

Very strong opening sequence and really worth watching for that alone. The sequel of Pieces of a woman still had me along, but the film also leaves a lot behind. The scenario lacks focus, the lyrics are not sharp enough, the music is too easy (in the beginning my heart jumped with Sigor Rós). On the other hand, there are individual moments that still make an impression and also the razor-sharp and stylish cinematography. So a bit of a mixed bag, or in other words: apples and pears. That tree at the end seemed at least decades old to me, so this kite from Mundruczó didn't work either. Rationally it all tends more towards the three, but instinctively it is really that half more.

Hmm, this movie wasn't bad, but it could have been a little shorter. I especially liked the middle part. I especially liked the beginning. The cast did a good job and other than that it looked good.

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't wow either.
