Jake is an unemployed photojournalist. He struggles with a drug addiction and his past. He takes a job in 1989 as the overseer of a forest cabin on a remote island alongside veteran Sparky. Jake sets up a darkroom to develop the photos he takes. Through the photos, he makes a shocking discovery about the future.
