The Last Beyond plot
1933. When Stratton Eiseley's father dies, he loses his family farm to the bank. Floating between past and present, Stratton struggles as he forges a new path in the harsh environment of Montana during the era of the Great Depression. He meets the writer Gracie Loren and the two fall in love. As they head into the vast wilderness of Montana with their newfound friends Joe Running Elk and Flying Bear, life gets easier for them.
