I Dream of Wires plot

Documentary about the history, demise and comeback of the modular synthesizer. It explores the dreams and obsessions of people who have devoted part of their lives to this fascinating, esoteric electronic music machine. More than 100 inventors, musicians and enthusiasts are interviewed about their relationship with the modular synthesizer – for many it is an all-consuming passion. Exploring the history of the modular synthesizer, I Dream of Wires also traces the history of electronic music in its entirety, from the very dawn of the electronic age.
