'Inspired by true events'. That made it somewhat interesting. Still, it seemed like a comedy at times. Did all that really happen in Sacramento in 1991 in that Good Guys store? Despite that, it was worth watching, partly because of the role of Mario Van Peebles. There were some exciting and action moments in it and if it had all been put down a bit more seriously, I would have given a higher score. Another fact: Mario's son, rapper Mandela Van Peebles, also had a role (shop assistant).

Based on the real hostage situation in Sacramento, California. This in a Good Guys electronics store.

In the original script, Gomez would be shot in the leg, and unable to prevent the ensuing chaos. Actor Mario Van Peebles wanted the ending changed, even threatening to leave the project if the production didn't suit his ending.

Personally, halfway through the ride, I felt like I was watching a comedy movie. It should be clear that the robbers have no experience whatsoever, and out of sheer desperation decide to rob an electronics store. The requirements include a helicopter, one million dollars, Ginseng tea and body armor that must completely cover the body. Just like in the movie RoboCop. This is a missed opportunity. With a bigger budget and a better cast, this could have been a good movie.
