The umpteenth incident in such youth institutions in the 1960s-70s-80s. Of course, the countless good examples where things do go well are not mentioned, but it is still striking.The Magdalene Sisters (Film, 2002) I found it even more intense and far more drastic than this.

It is distressing to see a tough guy who is not averse to using his fists, yet can be so bent down to process his past. The trigger of the media stories and the fact that his best friend took his own life, seriously cut into it. You also immediately see that the immediate environment suffers as a result.

A number of scenes had a number of loose ends, such as the consequences or not after Paul defended himself against the bullies. The ending is also quite open and ends suddenly. Now what? Will he come to terms with himself. How does the relationship with his girlfriend continue? The fact that he is on a police shortlist won't help much. Furthermore, solid and poignant, but there are better ones in the heavy genre.
