The Nothing plot

Clayton was recently expelled and wants to write his first story. He spends all his savings on a camera and lets his girlfriend Makaila take him to a mountain. Clayton plans to stay there for five days and has almost no food with him. The trouble starts when Clayton hears strange noises at night.

There are not many words to waste on this self-absorbed project by director and lead actor Clayton Thompson, who gives himself all the space in the world and neglects the other characters. The Nothing presents itself as a fake documentary, but offers little more than a very annoying main character who is slowly driven to madness (without demonstrable or convincing reasoning) in a random forest. There is no tension and no atmosphere either, only a format that wants to be interesting at the beginning and is then thrown overboard. The last 5 minutes are also negligible and visually it looks bad, which makes this a film that is difficult to sit through.
