The border area between the United States and Mexico is where people wander and are never seen or heard from again. They leave a footprint, a piece of clothing on a branch or bush or a bottle of water on the ground. Some are migrants trying to escape purgatory by climbing over one of its high walls, hoping to find a better life on the other side. Others are trapped in this purgatory because they have become hopeless victims of the war on drugs.
