Macabre thriller set in the heart of Navarre, in which Inspector Amaia Salazar has to solve a number of suicides; parts of children's skeletons are also found and a recurring word: Tarttalo. As in El Guardian Invisible, the region's pagan past plays a role in this thrilling story behind which a mysterious sect begins to emerge, which also includes Amaia's mother belongs . The film offers few answers at the end and leaves the way open to the third film, but the survey is exciting and takes the researcher into her own family past. Not disappointing but slightly less than Guardian Invisble.

Pretty lame sequel to the better first film. Bizarre that they necessarily wanted to continue on the first film, although this production can be viewed perfectly separately. All a bit far fetched. The plot also appeals a lot less, except for the strong beginning. Afterwards it gets bogged down in unrealistic whining and mysticism.

I couldn't keep up very well after that. Was it just me or the messy plot? Found some of the conclusions or plots rather easy and coincidental. Detective Amaia remains a nice character, but the peripheral characters hardly come out of the picture. There is actually no question of a detective duo. It's still entertaining, but it never really stood out.

Second part of the Bazan Trilogy in which Inspector Amaia Salazar returns to the Baztan Valley for a new mystery that follows a bizarre pattern of suicides that also reminds you of a murder from the previous case in part 1. Unfortunately, this sequel is much more less so despite the successful macabre mother-daughter relationship between Amaia and Rosario. The role of the mother is perfectly fulfilled by Susi Sánchez. The scene between mother and daughter with the see-through window in the psychiatric institution is a nice creepy moment. But you get to swallow a lot of information in Spanish at an exaggerated pace that you can or cannot place at that moment. There are a lot of characters that are still vaguely developed. The plot has too many unnecessary dialogues where the findings have a rather accidental outcome. Because of the fast pace of talking, it is sometimes impossible to follow. Also in terms of tension, you are left a bit hungry despite the mysterious approach to child skeletons and suicides. No, this is not really a successful sequel and the interest in the third part is not exactly great either. 5/10
