A short film that is quite intriguing. Well played, but here and there the script is a bit contrived. Things are said that the other person already knows, but are mainly intended to arouse emotion in the viewer.

Derwigken I actually only from Alles is Familie and similar dramady films. Nice to see him in a serious role for once.

I did miss an explanation and logic why Derwig's character actually got permission to interrogate Gemmeker. On whose authority was that?

Gemmeker is a name that rings a bell with few in Belgium. Not that Schmitt or (the Fleming) De Bodt are better known (camp commanders Breendonk), but each has its own history of course. Disconcerting portrayal of an interview between Gemmeker and Frankenhuis, a former prisoner of Westerbork.

The misplaced arrogant politeness, the playful innocence and general outrage. If you didn't know any better, you'd start to doubt... Even Frankenhuis seems to be thrown off balance for a moment. Not that he has any doubts, but he's having a really hard time dealing with this disgusting attitude. Especially when the “contra” photos come up.

The running time of half an hour could have been a bit longer, but this short film is a tightly packed and all-encompassing piece of cinema. Great acting by both lead actors. Such archives and source material naturally also ensure that Holocaust deniers continue to look for a forum. This still hangs.
