Birds vs. Plane: Miracle on the Hudson plot
US Airways Flight 1549 was a passenger flight operated by the American airline US Airways that ended in a successful emergency landing in the Hudson River on January 15, 2009 shortly after takeoff. The captain informed the air traffic controller that the aircraft had flown by a flock of birds. This documentary follows a team of scientists looking for a way to reduce the number of bird-aircraft collisions. With an increasing population of large birds, more flights than ever before and increasingly quieter and faster aircraft, the team faces a tough task.
