"Once upon a time there was a dream that now exists no more"
A few families live on the outskirts of the southern suburbs of Rome. Bruno and Dalila are married and raise their pre-adolescent children in the sleepy silence of that neighborhood, where other families like theirs and a school seem to guarantee a normal course of contemporary bourgeois life. Everything there is seemingly calm and reassuring, but actually covers a much more complex and collapsing reality: the children, who are industrious but cruel, unhappy and lonely, are at the same time the cause and the target of personal tensions that can explode at any moment...
