Kruimeltje en de Strijd om de Goudmijn plot

Crumb is reunited with his parents. He is no longer the poor street boy, but lives with his parents in a beautiful villa in the countryside. As nice as it is to be together with his parents again, it is also boring on such an estate, Kruimeltje misses the exciting city life. He decides to run away, along with his faithful dog Moor. But when he is stopped by Anna on his way to town and tries to escape her, they are both kidnapped... An old acquaintance villain shows up and targets them in the battle for the gold mine.

For children from the target group this film is intended for, this film is a nice watch, but as an adult I (sort of) find it much less than the previous crumb films. The humor in particular is much less here and the characters are less nicely put down.

The playing time is also a bit on the short side...even for children.

This was in the library and I brought it along anyway. We haven't seen the original movie or read the books, so we went blank with this movie. It was a great youth film that is ideal for young children. Not really a difficult story, but still entertaining. The cast certainly didn't do too badly and it looked good.

Not bad, not wow, a great family film.

Kruimeltje [Viggo Neijs] has been adopted by the wealthy Harry [Rick Engelkes] and Lieze [Kim Pieters], but still behaves like the street urchin who leaves havoc everywhere he goes. His foster parents hire a governess [Ilse Warringa] to teach and keep an eye on him at home. Then Kruimeltje and Anna [Sabijn Dunnewijk], a peer with whom he has an argument, are kidnapped by the clumsy bandits Eduard [Bas Keijzer[ and Roest [Horace Cohen]. Their boss Lefty [Victor Löw] hopes to force Harry to give him ownership of a gold mine. Attempt at a youth western is reminiscent of a bad copy of an adventure by Bassie and Adriaan, but (even) more old-fashioned. Poorly executed slapstick scenes, sketchy villains and a weak story. Children may not care about that, but I advise parents to do something else in the meantime, if possible.
