Addy and Ella are teenage stepsisters with little in common and no real relationship. When 17-year-old Addy loses her father and falls into depression, the unlikely friendship between the family's dog (Dally) and the horse she inherits from her late father (Spanky) brings the two sisters together on the road to Addy's. emotional recovery. On the advice of her teacher, she takes up a new hobby: training Dally & Spanky for the talent show at school. Unfortunately, Dally & Spanky's success on the talent show isn't enough to convince the family to keep Spanky, as he is too much of a financial burden. But Addy has an idea… She submits a video of their performance to a popular TV talent show. Now it's all or nothing and anything can happen.
