Mees Kees in de Wolken plot
As a big school dance approaches, Tobias is too shy to invite Hasna along. Mees Kees has no time to help him, because she is anxious to avoid Marie Louise because she has given him a balloon ride. While Mrs. Dreus teaches class 6B the waltz for the party, everything seems to go wrong for Tobias. Can Mees Kees overcome his fear of heights in time and save Tobias so that the party can continue?

In this fifth film from the beloved Mees Kees series, Mees Kees [Leendert de Rider] receives a balloon ride as a birthday present from his beloved Marie Louise [Ellie de Lange] and doesn't dare to say that he is afraid of heights. Headmaster Dreus [Sanne Wallis de Vries] organizes a school party to celebrate the 50th anniversary and wants Mees Kees to teach his students ballroom dancing for the occasion. Tobias [Imme Gerritsen] doesn't dare to ask Hasna [Mila van Groeningen] to the party. Wallis de Vries seizes the opportunity to rise above caricature in an exemplary way in this nicely written family film and Raymonde de Kuyper is also amusing as Mees Kees' mother. Too bad the children's acting is below par.
