Dit Was Yasmine plot

Yasmine, born as Hilde Rens, was a singer, TV and radio presenter, LGB icon, wife and mother. But who was she really? And what led her to take her own life at 37? Her mother Anita Claes, her best friends and colleagues portray her as she really was: a perfectionist but also lazy, noisy but also insecure, cheerful but also very dark, generous but also demanding, happy to grow old but unfortunately died much too young.

Singer Yasmine died on June 25, 2009, the same day as Michael Jackson. And yet her death was not a fait divers in the news. She certainly deserves a documentary about her life. 'This was Yasmine' looks like a tribute to her, based on testimonies by people who were close to her heart. This makes it more of a report with interviews than a real documentary. It is interesting and moving rather than a beautiful documentary about a famous artist. Actually, this could (should) have been an episode of Belpop with a more objective view and better produced. I was bothered by the cutscenes that kept dropping a few words that weren't mentioned much later. Hopefully we will get a better summary from her (via Belpop or otherwise).
