'The Red Sea Diving Resort' tells the true story of a covert Mossad operation called Operation Brothers. Ari Levinson, an Israeli agent, leads the operation in the early 1980s with a team of spies with the holiday resort of Arous (Sudan, on the shores of the Red Sea) as a front. The purpose of the mission is to smuggle Ethiopian Jews into Sudan.

Mediocre film in which a secret operation is launched to help Ethiopians flee. Quite unbalanced in tone. A team on an adventurous mission vs refugees. And it is clear that the latter has lost out here. Not a problem in itself, but the characters are also moderately developed and a bit on the boring side.

I found the first half of the film to be a bit slow to start .. I knew the story beforehand , but it just didn't pick up any momentum. As the plan started to work with the resort things got more exciting and things finally picked up a bit. After having seen the entire film I was quite impressed, also with the idea that the story is based on true events always appeals.

Reasonable drama. The true story is well developed. The film never gets boring, but never really manages to peak at tension or drama. It's all pretty average. Not that the film is bad, but not really special despite the fact that the story lends itself well to it. There is enough suspense and some action and drama. The acting is also quite steady. Nowhere does the film really touch you. Visually everything is fine. 3.0
