Norwegian Sonja Henie was only sixteen years old when she won a gold medal at the 1928 Winter Olympics. A feat that she repeats in 1932 and 1936. In 1936 she leaves for Hollywood, where she makes a number of very successful skating films. In the late 1930s, she was the highest paid Hollywood actress and lucrative sideline activities and merchandising made her one of the richest women in the world.
