White Bear plot

Victoria wakes up with a headache, bandaged wrists and pills all around her. The people around her refuse to say anything. All they do is film her with their smartphone. A strange sign flickers on the TV, but Victoria can't remember anything. Outside, she meets Jem, a young woman who tells her that the signal on TV comes from the 'White Bear' transmitter, a device that turns people into passive voyeurs. Those who can resist are chased in a deadly game by an elite group calling themselves the "hunters." Trying to stay out of harm's way, Jem and Victoria look for White Bear to take him out...

This one is okay. Exciting at times, a nice creepy atmosphere is created and the acting is excellent. You know every moment that there will be a twist, but it doesn't really bother you. However, length is the major opponent here. You're missing a middle part. There is a build-up and that quickly transitions into the finale. This makes the film easy to watch, but not really memorable. Visually the whole thing is poor. 3.0*.

OK.

For me, clearly a lesser episode and the entire BM series. Although I haven't seen many yet, this may be the least I've seen yet. It simply didn't really feel like BM anymore and more like some kind of clumsy, sometimes even amateurish thriller film that has little suspense.

It also mainly has to do with the fact that Crichlow is weak. Not convincing for a moment and actually just being theatrical, which doesn't exactly belong here. Those around her are also quite invisible, except for Smiley.

Despite the decent pace, I thought it was a bit dull and lacking in adrenaline for a film that focuses so much on suspense. I found it a bit lifeless in that respect, especially because there is never any real threat and Joost only has a few moments where you feel some tension.

It is indeed the final phase that makes it. You recognize a bit of BM in that, and that's great, because otherwise this would definitely not have been sufficient. It's a pity that the first part, on the other hand, was not convincing at all.

The set-up is fine, with a start in the 'where am I' setting, continued by the wonderfully gloomy setting when she goes outside and all kinds of people are filming her from behind windows . I like. A guy with a balaclava with 'the symbol' also appears, with a gun. Enough mystery for me to live on.
However, the lady's whining and screaming quickly starts to become annoying, and unfortunately continues throughout the episode. It is very clear that the van man will be a 'hunter'. A masked woman with an electric bread knife, well.
Of course, no one saw the twist coming. Good idea. However, afterwards (and in retrospect) it becomes very over-the-top again. But of course BM does that more often, magnifying (technological) social criticism in a somewhat mocking way.
The behind the scenes footage during the credits is nice.
