Nice! Strange that nobody bothered to write something for this. Had a great score above 3* and already more than ten votes, then a little explanation helps to bring this kind of movies to the attention. It's not like we're drowning in successful horror comedies, every 'lucky moment' is worth gold. Now also available for those who don't go to the film festivals... hopefully it will still be a hit It is a nice bitter torture at sea; the harsh conditions, the tense mutual relationships and of course physical pains contribute to this. Rob Grant has apparently been working on his career for a while, but flew quite under the radar all that time. This shows potential in any case and hopefully this will lead to more similar works in the future, because his older films are a bit harder to find these days.

A bit lame.

A somewhat too simple elaborated film with few highlights. The poster at least aroused some interest, but the final film itself is less impressive. It is not horror, mainly a mutual thriller between the actors.

Acting is the link in the film and that ensures that the film does not collapse like a house of cards. But the actors and actress cannot hide the fact that the story is a bit bland. The course is also anything but unpredictable and only towards the end do we get something that we do not see coming.

The first 70 minutes consist mainly of quarrels and tensions that never really come out optimally. Everything is too hastily presented and the course of the story is too rushed.

In terms of horror, there are some nasty images, but just a bit too few to really stick with. It remains a bit too tame and the film never dares to really play dirty. But, it is entertaining in any case and the fights remain somewhat interesting.

I would have liked to see a bit more spice in the film. A few nice horror moments, but you have to wait too long for them. Either you make sure that the thriller is cleverly worked out, or you make the fights nice and bombastic. This was just a bit too tame. Too bad.

Funny.

Three horrible characters go on a boat trip together. It doesn't take long before their friendship is completely exposed, and when the boat refuses to cooperate, the setup is complete. This mix of comedy and horror doesn't make it too difficult for itself.

But the execution is effective. I'm a fan of the combination anyway, but Grant still comes up with a few great scenes, especially when certain scenes manage to score both on horror and comedy level (when trying to chop off the arm for example).

It is not very innovative, but because they are such a terrible people, the ever-increasing crisis manages to entertain extra. Voice-over also adds some humor and the ending is suitably black humorous. Not brilliant cinema, but nice entertainment that also does not last that long. Very nice filler.

3.5*
