Nick Pearson has been an inveterate bachelor all his life who is finally getting married. Just before his wedding, he is surprised to discover that he has a 13-year-old son who has started to find his way with the help of a psychic. The problem is, Nick can't stand children and likes to send the boy back to his birth mother, except no one knows who that is. With no other options available, Nick must set out with the boy and the neurotic, clumsy psychic to track down dozens of ladies he's once had an affair with and ask the awkward question - with very mixed results.
