Trio plot

'Trio' follows the story of Wim, an accountant, neurotic and loner who has been struggling with depression for a while. His half-brother and polar opposite Gert tries to cheer him up with a not so common gift. Lise, a foul-mouthed escort, releases long-lost feelings in Wim. The depression seems far away. They talk, laugh, dance... but they are not alone. Gert is also enchanted by the stubborn, intriguing Lise. The mating dance begins. An unlikely trio ensues. For the first time, there is rivalry between the brothers. Lise is theirs for an hour. After that everything is different.

The three, who were also responsible for the direction, are well attuned to each other, having previously performed the piece.

A funny fact that plays on some points of the characters.

The film has very good moments, but also some depths where it gets a bit bland.

Original camera work that really scans the environment and creates atmosphere and tension.

Without clear jumps in time, I think you can speak of a real-time film,

such as the agreed hour at the disposal of the prostitute, in my opinion also quite literal

corresponds to the duration of its availability. There is a short trip by car

including a kind of Meg Ryan scene, otherwise it only takes place in a

single house with useful camera work that certainly enhances the atmosphere. With excellent

performance by all three actors, and I found the striking dialogues quite witty. Midpoint in

the film is clearly the prostitute, and does the film make you guess if they are the two half brothers now

exclusively playing (and exploiting) or not. (In any case, she is very punctual

when it comes to payment). An issue that also comes up in the last quarter of an hour,

when the movie gets a little more awkward.

Thought the characters of the two brothers were also finely explored. Obviously two

different characters and each other's properties are also under fire.

For me this was top shelf Kammerspiel, which constantly managed to captivate me with

many subtle and often comical changes of mood. Had to think about it a bit

Polanski's Carnage. The escort lady is apparently always in a cheerful mood, but

does the film have a short gloomy final shot, and somewhat suggestive possibly a completely different one

sheds light on her person and existence. The film is therefore not only comic, and has

also a serious, psychological and dramatic undertone.

Incredible piece of acting talent! Absolutely recommended! Beautiful in its simplicity.
