On Her Shoulders plot
Plagued by iPhone cameras and pushy reporters, 23-year-old Nadia Murad leads a harrowing but vital crusade: to find the world's most influential platforms and speak out on behalf of the ravaged Yazidi community facing mass extermination by IS. -militants. Nadia herself has narrowly escaped with her own life, trying to tell her story through radio broadcasts, meetings, and even on the floor of the United Nations General Assembly as a Yazidi sex slave and witness to the brutal murders of her family. Although it is unbearable, she forces herself to reconsider these realities over and over again. Because without her testimony, the genocide that is happening right before the eyes of the world can go completely unnoticed.
