Meh. You can now speak of a typical Blumhouse production. Funny concept, budget is sufficient and there are some details that make it all seem a bit more original than it actually is. Seann William Scott in this role is a nice find, but his character is written and directed in such a one-dimensional psychopathic way that you start to wonder why the director wants the same look from his actor for every shot. With a synth-wavey soundtrack (not too uplifting) and some short-lived explosions of explicit violence, it should be one of the surprises of this year - see also the frenzied first reviews elsewhere - but nothing could be further from the truth. The only thing that sticks is that birth. Kind of unnecessary, but that kind of 'guts' is appreciated.

I already knew that Scott could play other roles. Stark Raving Mad is such a typical example of a different Scott. But he plays the role of an ice-cold killer with morals very well. This man is in my opinion really underrated in terms of acting arts. The movie is nothing special. He is not annoying to see and looks nice. Partly due to Scott's acting performance, a pass

Reasonable film about a brand new father who offers children guidance at school. Quite atmospheric with a nice soundtrack as well. The build-up is also good and here and there the film comes out brutally. However, the main character could have been developed a bit better (it remains rather superficial). Seann William Scott's atypical casting doesn't always work very well, but it's fun to watch. A small 3.0 stars.
