Long-winded mysterious story in which madness or demonic evil takes center stage. Don't expect too many horror elements in this film, in which the atmosphere, location and structure of the story are the trump cards. However, the story makes little impression and the punchline is disappointing. The acting is solid and the location of an isolated landscape is well chosen for this genre. It is certainly refreshing. 5/10

I'll be brief about this: pretty worthless! The switching between those timelines was driving me crazy...

1.5 stars for the "reverend".

Nice.

The fairly negative noise surrounding this film made me believe that there was actually no potential in the film. I was wrong about that, as The Wind turned out to be a very competent horror film that tackles its business atmospherically. This does mean that there is some slowness involved, but that is not necessarily a bad thing.

It all starts very mysteriously, and the atmosphere that the film radiates is calm. I was very surprised in advance to see that the cast that played in this had mainly played in bad films. Gerard and Telles in this case, but they show that they do belong in the acting world. Good, controlled roles that contain the necessary charm.

Visually the film looks nice. Good use is made of the sound editing, which allows for an ominous setting. Camerawork could have been a little less static, and I also missed some quality cinematography during the exciting scenes. The film regularly tries to build tension, but it doesn't really happen.

The story is somewhat confusing and that is sometimes a shame, because these types of films do not necessarily have to be as ambitious as possible. The Wind has some tough scenes in between and the lack of courage during the horror scenes is a shame. It now relies on a fairly sad atmosphere that does its job properly, but not enough to really make the film strong.

Strange film, I thought it was better than I expected, but this is not a very strong film. Stick an A24 label on it and the online audience will go wild. I enjoyed it to a limited extent, but I appreciate the atmosphere and the acting. I just miss the tension, threat and horror. Otherwise quite enjoyable thanks to the special atmosphere created by the film.
