The Death of Superman plot
"Witness the day Metropolis stood still"
A large monster rises from an underground resting place and deals a lot of damage everywhere. The members of Justice League are called in to stop the colossal monster. It soon becomes apparent that they cannot withstand his powers and that only Superman can stop him.

Very mediocre. Visually, the film fails to deliver with simple, cheap animation, the voice acting lacks real depth, and the story is more like an extended version of a TV episode than something that warrants a full-length film. Thankfully, it's still relatively short, but even then, the film couldn't hold my attention for the full duration. 1.0*.

The Death Of Superman is the 10th animated film in the DC Animated Movie Universe.
The battle between Superman and Doomsday has previously been depicted in the 2007 animated film Superman: Doomsday, as well as the 2016 live-action film Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. This film follows more closely the original storyline of the groundbreaking series surrounding Superman's death. This time around, we also get the entire Justice League, which will likely take some getting used to for non-DC Comics fans. The film features a diverse cast of characters, and if you're unfamiliar with them and haven't seen the other nine films, it can be a bit difficult to follow.
Yet, the story is told rather simplistically. The animation is nothing spectacular, and the story isn't exactly groundbreaking. Superman fans will still enjoy this film, but the battle between Superman and Doomsday was better filmed in Superman: Doomsday. This film lacks the well-shot action of that film. It was followed in 2019 by Reign Of The Supermen.

Revisited on 4K where this and its direct sequel “Reign of Superman” were released as one feature film under the title “The Death and Return of Superman”.
The story has been told several times before, including the 2007 animated film Superman: Doomsday and the 2016 animated film Batman vs. Superman Dawn of Justice. These animated films are based on the same storyline, but the fact that it's been done before doesn't detract from the film's success. In fact, it's probably the best version of the story ever filmed.
This film truly builds our love for Superman, making the impact of his death truly tangible and even emotional. This is partly due to the excellent development of the relationships with Lois Lane, Bibbo, and his parents. The subtle way Batman and Wonder Woman react to Superman's death reveals their unique bond with Superman and breaks our hearts even more. He was a beacon of hope for Metropolis, and the city loved him.
Also, big pluses for the fight choreography. The fights in Justice League and Superman vs. Doomsday are brutal.
Humor, romance, action and sadness, all in this great film.
