Clair McKenna, a former military specialist, returns home after her father's death. She soon finds herself at odds with her 13-year-old son Charlie. After the news that Clair has inherited a large sum of money from her father's company, Charlie is kidnapped. Rather than seek help, Clair takes one of the kidnappers, Larsen, as a hostage and forces him to accompany her on a perilous journey to save her son from the mysterious figure known only as "The Father." The journey takes Clair to the mountains of Yukon, near the US-Canadian border, when a winter storm approaches. As her chances of survival begin to diminish, she has no choice but to form an unlikely alliance with Larsen to save her son and survive the wilds of the far north.

What an improbable and stupid performance. The only good thing about it were the shots without people. The story, mainly consisting of some trudging through the snow, has little originality. As for the cast: I don't know from under which rock they dug up their son, because he is certainly not a natural talent. Dreyfuss is clearly in his last stages of development that he shows himself in this kind of B-movies.
