Ceres plot
Documentary film about four young children who each experience the harvest cycle and the cycle of life and death in their own way. The children live on remote Zeeland farms and dream of becoming farmers, just like their fathers and grandfathers. Although this dream is never questioned, the children reach an age when temptations from outside invade their isolation and can influence their unconditional ideals. Growing up on a remote farm, the envisioned dream of becoming a farmer or farmer's wife, the importance of family businesses that are passed on from generation to generation, dependence on nature and the weather, the cycle of the seasons, on sowing and harvesting and on the world bringing and slaughtering are the core of their stories.
