Everything revolves around the sympathetic Tae-ri Kim (Ah-ga-ssi) in this film about a young woman who, after a failed exam her boyfriend and exchanges the hustle and bustle of the big city for the tranquility of the countryside. The tranquility of the environment, the connection with nature and the seasons, as well as the friendship of former classmates have a healing effect on the psychological wounds she has suffered. In passing, she masters the creative cooking of her disappeared mother.

A soothing film that literally and figuratively makes your mouth water from time to time. A gem.

Liteul Poreseuteu promises to be a poetic journey through nature, but unfortunately fails to live up to expectations. This film, which attempts to take a meditative look at rural life, is stuck on superficiality and fails to create a deeper emotional impact.

One of the film's biggest flaws is its lack of a coherent storyline. Liteul Poreseuteu seems more like a series of picturesque images of nature and food preparation than a coherent narrative experience. The lack of a clear story makes it difficult for the audience to connect emotionally with the characters, leaving the film with a distant and fragmented impression.

The cinematography, while picturesque, fails to hold the viewer's attention. The images of the natural environment are beautiful, but they cannot disguise the fact that the film suffers from a lack of dynamism and visual variety. The repetitive nature of the film contributes to an overall feeling of boredom and predictability.

The acting is solid, but the weak script gives the actors little room to distinguish themselves. The characters remain superficial and underdeveloped, making it difficult to fully understand their motivations and emotions. This lack of depth makes it difficult for the audience to identify with the characters and their journey.

I saw this movie on an American Airlines plane flight. I was able to consult the film selection on board in advance and I had selected Liteul Poreseuteu because many South Korean films appealed to me. In retrospect, I regretted not choosing another film, but perhaps, for the reason already mentioned, I had too high expectations.

2.5*
